The following article resumes the experiences of the first steps in film education for the advanced teacher-training. Further, it makes clear how artwork can take place in school reality and may be recognised as a learning place.
The contribution raises the question about the usefulness of film canones. Students present their project – a DVD comprising film examples and analysis.
The article states some aspect of a general image science and develops from this a conceptual frame that should provide an orientation for the theoretical description of both films and pictures. This leads to a plea for an integral school subject »visual media«.
